It looks like I will be at a bit of a loose end in Daventry next weekend whilst Mrs T attends a conference. Anything I should make the effort to see? I know there were some iron workings nearby. Not much in the database here though, I suspect all trace eradicated?

Well, my trip to Daventry was cancelled as Mrs T was unwell so the delights of that town remain a mystery to me

Pingu has a potential project down there. Get in touch with him if your visit gets re-scheduled? Just make sure those ironstone mines are well vented :surrender:

Sorry, only just seen your posting! Yes there are numerous mines around Finedon, Irthlingborough, Slipton etc. The Finedon area was accessible of recent but suffocating bad air was encountered. Mines around Slipton were accessible providing the land owner didn’t catch you and threaten your well being!!!! See the book “Ironstone mines of Northamptonshire” for full details.

I'm working in Peterborough all this week, all I can see is a few old Oxford Clay pits that are surrounded by security fences. I did hope I would be knee deep in Oxford Clay finding ammonites this evening
if eight out of ten cats all prefer Whiskas
Do the other two prefer Lesley Judd ?
