Has anyone recently done SC to RG via the Hydraulic Shaft, wondering if the few falls are still open along the Hanginshaw Branch - not done it for a few years.

Is/was the way clear all the way to the Rampgill portal Mr Mike and what are the pitches like from the sublevel immediately below Elliot's String?

OK, I cannot remember the full depth of the shaft continuation from the flat below ES, but it is in the range of 25m. The way down is easy, (there is a small M8 bolt to put a deviation to hang straight down). You need to make sure you go down the right side of the shaft as one is blocked. I think it is the side closest towards the flat.
