Looks an interesting old pit, & this map shows it to be over Ripley way. However the site google earth map shows it to be in the lake at Alton Towers! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

It is believed that this colliery connected to the Butterley Canal Tunnel at the Wide Hole by way of a Boat Level from the mine.
