Hi John

If you log on to www.healeyhero.co.uk and type in 'Hucknall' you will find a whole load of info. on the Hucknall pits.

I didn't work there but did so at Moorgreen colliery nearby.

Blackshale is the deepest of those seams.
Surprised they didn't work the Deep Hard seam
I went in a mine once.... it was dark and scary..... full of weirdos

When do I get my soapbox, I need to rant on about some b***cks

Deep Hard was worked at No2 Via drifts from top hard and underground steam winch at top hard no4 shaft. I'll put some info on photos.

Disclaimer: Mine exploring can be quite dangerous, but then again it can be alright, it all depends on the weather. Please read the proper disclaimer.
