Just wondered if the Thursday nighters had any plans for this week as I'm staying down in Tanigrisau.

Discussions are afoot about a wander up to Diffwys, so nice and convenient for you. I'll post up details later unless someone beats me to it.

Will Rachel and Jemima be going?

Jemima, yes. Rachel, not unless someone brings their own. Some of us may suit up and have a dip though.

A million appologies for being such a slacker this week..... Pressures of working split shifts have left me with no time to post up a trip....

I'm up for a swim through Diffwys! If we bring Jemima, coul someone bring Rachel as we will need to get the Comand Module (laptop.... ;D) over the first chamber without getting it wet please! I'll bag it up in a dry bag but I'd rather not take any chances.... $$$$$$$ :o

@ Bob: feel free to join us, will be good to see you again :)

Meet up at the car park opposite the Queens in the middle of Blaenau at 1815....and then up to the duck house?

I think my Rachel is mortally wounded but could try taping her up. Not remember the place very well, how far is it between the end of the dry and the chamber where we intend to launch Jemima? Longer than the umbilical?

Too far I would say? Across the chamber with the half-submerged boat?

It was the non-wetsuited members of the team that I was thinking about...
...never mind, they'll just have to MTFU.

I have a spare Rachel.

Although to be honest the 1st chamber would be as good as the 2nd for launching Jemima?

The next chamber might be a wee bit more interesting, but means getting the kit across.

I'm going to be a pain and request postponing this for now, i've been really busy all day and i'm going to be busy first half of tomorrow as well. I've not had a chance to even look at her yet.

So if its not too much bother can we push it to next week? :flowers::wub:

Noooo! I'm in Edinburgh next week. (And in Liverpool the week after!) :(

[/kneejerk reaction]

Yes of course Blober, if you're too busy then let's not. But we DO need the practice. And I like swimmy trips but I'll get another chance some day. So yes why not postpone it to some time I'm swanning around somewhere E/NE of here... 😞

I vote we head up to Diffwys anyway, have a look around, a swim and a cup-a-soup (hint, hint 🙂 )

Mini-Stronie? ;)

Count me in. Shall we ab in then, into the chamber with all the artefacts?

Sounds fun, I haven't done that before. Is it all downwards or is some ascending called for too?

It's a round trip, from the people who bought you, er, lots of round trips

Decent abseil in and then 3 (?) boat rides or swims back with the option of making that 5 (?) swims if you want to go a bit further into the mine 🙂

5, correct!

I've never managed to find a decent map of Diffwys though, so not sure of chamber numbers? Perhaps we should name them?
We have "Frog Incline", " Deflated Rachel Chamber", "Llion's Chamber of Cramps", "The Chamber of The Eternal Lost Sinking Flipper", "Hymac's Chamber of The Eternal Floating Banana". And the return route across the first chamber should be called "She's going down....paddle faster!!!" :o

Good memories from Diffwys now I come to think about it!!

@ Bob: Do you have SRT gear with you??

Sorry no SRT gear with me and I'm not to good with water either. Think I might leave this one to the professionals tonight as I'm a bit tired and battered from exploring Cwmorthin this week. Have a great trip Bob

Disclaimer: Mine exploring can be quite dangerous, but then again it can be alright, it all depends on the weather. Please read the proper disclaimer.
