Well I have just returned from my first "ratch about" in Mouldridge, thank you to my knowledgable guides Owd Git and AR. A very enjoyable couple of hours underground and by the looks of it we even avoided some rainstorms by being down there.
I'm not sure that it would be that impossible to get lost in Mouldridge and was glad I had a couple of old hands with me, I was introduced to some interesting history and geology and I felt quite priviledged to have these sights pointed out by a couple of such friendly chaps.
I can't believe that huge system was picked and shoveled out, amazing what people had to do to earn a living in those times. I felt it contained just the amount of "ratching" for a first timer..it wasn't dull but not worryingly tight at any point either.
And it felt good to to have a well earned pint afterwards too...thanks again for the loan of equipment and your knowledge and company. I hope to do more.
If this was trip adviser I would "recommend" this day out!
