Although a Caving event there is plenty for mine explorers not least the trade hall with latest gear on offer. You try different oversuits on etc well worth the effort. Trade hall won't cost but there are superb lectures on which are worth going to.

I will be there with caving books and mining ones if you pre order to view I will bring them along

Where is this event located and are there any explorational trips involved with any caves or mines do you know?

It's at Churchill, which is south of Bristol - there is a dedicated website if Google Hidden Earth details are there - discount for pre booking to take your tent to camp

I doubt any local folk (self included) will be heading underground.

However just to tickle your tastebuds within about a 5-15 min drive you have:

Sanford Levvy.
Singing River Mine.
Stainsbury's Shaft.
Star Shaft.

And on the top of the Mendip has more. Most of the options mentioned above are on the C.S.C.C. key, (available from caving huts for a non member deposit, (or your local fiendly Mine Explorer in return for tales of daring do, and beer, Nudge, nudge!))

I'm kinda busy this weekend, decimating the back garden. But, should you be "innarea anytime soon" Drop me a Pm and perhaps we'll be able to get some trips in!

Doubt very much that I be going to Hidden Earth this year due to personal issues. I will be at next year's HE which will either be in Leek or Burnley and I will do my level best to get along to NAHMO in June. Just put my absence from this year's HE down to an old nemesis of mine who will be there! :guns:

Disclaimer: Mine exploring can be quite dangerous, but then again it can be alright, it all depends on the weather. Please read the proper disclaimer.
