Wormster did you get a response or a trip down the mine?

I also contacted that e-mail a couple of weeks ago as I have a Mineralogy Society visiting the area in June...but alas no response.

I have a few mates who still work there and posed the same question a few months ago. I have it on good authority that the mine management are not looking favourably on visits at the moment after an 'incident' with a previous bunch underground. No-one has gone into any more detail about what the 'incident' was, but it apparently involved a pretty near miss with one of the visitors.

I spoke to them over two years ago and at the time they were no longer taking bookings for trips as they had over a twelve months waiting list due to the delay caused by the collapse that occurred there.

I suspect with there current financial difficulties they will not be running any foreseeable future trips.
