Wow, I had no idea anything like this existed, and its odd because for a while now I have been trying to find something to make a AA batery case which stops them rattling round but never found anything the right size. This looks just the thing!

Looking at these. I bet a bit of a mod with some aluminium strip, cut from an old beer can with old pair of skissors, and you would have a power pack.
Make up about 6, and you change packs instead of fumbling with batteries. Old Ceag or Oldham headset and lead, fit a Retro 2 or Miles Moulding special, endless possibilites?
Of course, not waterproof, but on the back of helmet, unless you plan to go diving?
Food for thought

My avatar is a poor likeness.

Hmmm... I've also got some 2700mAh rechargeables that are quite surprisingly powerful which would give quite a useful 6v power pack for under a tenner!

I got a similar thing only it took 8 AA cells from ebay 2 or 3 years ago. It didn't open like that though, it opened at each end, you had access to 4 cells at a time.

I've been using a similar case obtained from Maplins. Found them to be very useful.
Simple Tip: I use AA's for cameras/RC servos so when I swap out in the field I reverse the polarity of 2 batteries in the case so when I get back home I know which sets of batteries need charging. I tend to use them in fours. Fully charged the polarity is the same.

Good idea for a running pack, could make them waterproof using silicon? No different from servo packs, once sealed use wires for charging just the same.
