I know you're a bit coy about promoting stuff on here, but I have a question: is this http://www.excellentstuff.co.uk/Oldham-Lamps/c-1-89/  the DL16?

Presumably the GL16 is the halogen version and the DL16 the LED version, both of which use the Li-Ion battery whereas the DT5 and DT6 are the LED headset suited for the T5 and T6 batteries respectively?

Apart from the manufacturer's website and this one, the majority of Google searched pop up with stuff in Durham - presuming that DL16 is a postcode somewhere round there...

Yes, thats the DL16
The D is the LED headset, the G is the halogen headset
The T5 and T6 part refer to the lead acid battery and the L16 is the LitiumIon battery.
batteries and headsets are interchangeable, I use a D headset on a T6 battery (giving me a DT6)

With the balck plastic battery tops you can use either lead acid or lithiumion battery, the fittings are the same.

In my humble opinion the DL16 is by far the finest underground lamp in the world, not the brightest perhaps but factor in battery duration and sheer indestructablity then its top rank.

Ta! :)

I may be in the market for a new lamp shortly, once I've finished jumping up and down on my current one :curse:

Many people find the DL16 has too tight a beam focus for their tastes. Personally I like the range it gives and allows you to see that little bit further.
Feel free to take mine for a wander at some point if you like.
I've given mine some serious abuse and its shrugged it all off.

i too have a DT6 and am very impressed. My only moan would be that after a while condesation forms inside the head unit on the lens. I think Jagmans did the same as well. Lamp still works ok though!.

It does but it disappears with use.
Side effect of the heat I suppose, compared to other led lamps it has a big reflector/lens area which may contibute to this.

;D yes, I probably keep it a bit too quiet, but I don't want to fill the site with commercial posts or excessive plugging of things we sell on Excellent Stuff.

Thanks Jagman, hence why we sell it, don't like selling things that I've got less than absolute faith in. Hence the Sten/Oldham/WiseLED/Fenix lineup. We're happy to sell the Sten and Oldham side by side because they are so conceptually different that there's no conflict between them.

I should also add, that any trip that I'm on then I can always bring a demo unit Sten or DL16 if anybody wants to try either...

End of commercial postings for now 😉

You can run it off your existing T-Cell
The L16 battery is a nice piece of kit though 🙂
