Hi there, I have recently aquired a couple of ex miners caplamps with Batteries attached, can anyone tell me if there is a reasonably priced charger or chargers available for these.

Thanks in anticipation.

They still appear on Ebay from time to time but before trying to charge check the distilled water level in the cells and that there is no corrosion on the terminal posts.

Oldham batteries that have not been charged/discharged on a regular basis will more than likely be dead.

Why not convert them to run on NiMh or Lithium batteries

Also check the fuse in the top, if thats gone the cells wont charge regardless. If you can hear stuff rattling inside the cell casing that means material is coming away from the plates, the batterys junk.

You can use an ordinary battery charger. You can drop the current by inserting a resister ie a 12 v bulb.
