Righto,

I have a fenix P3D running a Q5 emitter its powerd by a pair of 3v 600mah rechargable lion cells.

Now when its running on normal high setting (Lightpainting, aven spotting, general use) after a short time >5 mins. it switches to emergency strobe setting. A quick blip of teh switch doesn't cure it, teh only way is to switch to low setting and use that for a while.

2 Questions:

1- Has anybody else had this happen??

2- Is teh emitter getting hot and overcooking? (S'what it seems to be to me!)

answers on a postage stamp pls

The flickering generally indicates low battery charge?

I'd be tempted to try it with a new pair of non-rechargeables and see what happens.
Hello again darkness, my old friend...

Try running it in the sink - if it takes longer to shut off then it's a thermal problem 😉
