Platform is mine as well, again 2005.
Had to support the steel ladder on something that would allow the water to run underneath. What is misleading in there is that I recycle timber already in the mine, apart from some larch that that the farmer kindly donates. This has been used in the platforms that go up to the 14 fathom level and the retimbered section near Boundary Shaft.

I dont think that the shaft ever was a climbing shaft, just a stope to daylight. It was mucked out in 2002 and laddered for NAMHO. It was capped with concrete and manhole later same year. Previous to this, entry to the mine was quite a bit of fun. I remember first doing it and thrilling to the extent of it all. The duck boards still had clog prints.
When I dug through to Engine Shaft there was stuff everywhere. I big iron bound timber box with spares for pumps, and a big wooden box I now believe to be the surface balance box. I theorised on the multiple pump rods until recently when the shaft cleared to daylight and I can see the top section of pump rod wedged in the shaft.
When the rod was released by knocking out the gudgeon pin, this is down there somewhere but I lost it under debris, the rods dropped ripping out the balance bob which also went down the shaft. Its the supporting ironwork that can now be seen at shaft bottom which I previously mistaken for an iron pump rod.
Incidentally, the shaft is open below adit, that is how I found it, clear blue water deeper than you could see, but partially covered by timbers.
Eventually, the engine house bob wall will collapse down, sad.
