Haven't watched it but would guess Wetgrooves in Wensleydale from the title.

Hi this mine is definitely Wetgrooves. I would hasten to add that in my humble opinion, over a 25 year period of knowing the mine, the way these two went down the incline was just a bit ‘hairy’. When I first went there I was told by my guide that you need 2 electron ladders to safely descend it.
We took the gear, but found that we could have used more!
So to see these two making a descent with their minimalist equipment I feel is just a little concerning!

The first time we visited we rigged it for SRT however there was a huge thaw during the course of the trip which made it somewhat damp as the ropes kept you directly in the meltwater for the full acsent... After that we just scrambled down which seemed preferable as you could bridge out into the shaft to a certain extent and avoid dislodging a lot of the loose stuff on the ledges. Either way, a good little trip, different to many of the mines thereabouts. 🙂

I went in a few years back with Dave and Andy - the spiral was interesting and challenging but we didn't bother with or feel that we really needed SRT. A hand rope would have made it a bit more wheelchair-friendly I guess.

If you tripped over your slippers it'd definitely be a long, unplanned, Homer-esque, base-over-apex descent!
