It would appear that UNEXMiN's recent visit to Ecton has proved to be fruitful. The ROV descended the Pumping Shaft in Deep Ecton down to 410 feet according to their write up. Looking forward to seeing some pictures when released. Here is one from yesterday's Facebook post.

Yes it has been taking photos/video and of course mapping its way down. The whole project has been a few years in the making and Ecton was the last in a series of dives which have been conducted in various mines throughout Europe. They are holding a conference in July to showcase all the data they have gathered, according to their website. Not long to go! We'll just have to be patient.

Good call Andy, as you may well know I was invited to be part of the pre- preparation crew and ended up doing other voluntary work during the exercise. I have to say the whole experience was very enlightening and a privilege to be part of, thanks to John. However I'm only able to relay information that is already in the public domain.
