Anyone know if there is any information, books leaflets etc about the Old Iron Mines near Emley Woodhouse? There are over 100 shafts and pits marked over 3 sites.
Geology:
the study of rocks & similar substances (minerals n such) that make up the Earth''s surface.
Minerals:
are the building blocks of rocks. They are a naturally occuring,inorganic, solid, crystalline substance which has a fixed structure. (and some of them are really pretty)

Old mapping has plenty of what appear to be 'bell pits' on the east side.

Also a colliery.

Yes, that's the ones. Great piece of information. Missed the opportunity to capture them in the recent snowfall, have to check them out on a foggy day
