I managed a successful whitewash of the homepage !

I got a stack of mid-late 60s newsletters from the Yorkshire Underground Research Team. They did a lot around the Greenhow area (mainly caves but a bit of mining thrown in)

Most of it is just text snippets of visits and digs but there was one original photo of Gillfield which is a cracker.

Well done Mr Twigg:thumbsup:

There are some good drawings in the uploads as well, I wonder if any of the early NCMRS people crossed their path as several of them were busy in the same area around the same time?

I must concur with Jim, Chris you carried out an excellent detective process, both to find these items, and then to decide which of them are worth uploading.
It is especially interesting to me since in the late 60's a group of P.D.M.H.S. members including myself began our exploring, these mines at this time.
Keep up the sleuthing!

They were given to me via the son of a late YURT who's house was been cleared.

Luckily he contacted the local caving clubs before putting them in the skip.
Hopefully a lot of it will be worthy of inclusion in the BCRA archives.

The only other mine photos was the attached from Mulreesh on the Isle of Islay. No current photos in the database so no idea if its still open.

One of their earliest surveys was of Moulds Old Level in Arkengarthdale sometime before 1963 -they were a parallel group to the NCMRS team. One of my first trips underground was into Moulds Old with Martin.

I think that I donated my copy to NMRS Library
