A good friend of mine from Germany recently visited Smallclough mine, and when he came out of the mine, found this camera tripod outside the entrance. If anybody knows who this belongs to, my friend would love to re-unite it with its owner who also lost a small chisel in the flats. He was clearly a passionate advocate for the mine as he was accompanied by his young family, who hopefully will become the next generation of geologists and mineral collectors...

If your friend could drop the tripod off at the Nenthead Mines Conservation Society open day on Sunday at Nenthead, we will be able to re-unite it with its owner.
Don't look so embarrassed, it's a family trait...

Because it could have been closed or many other reasons. The guy found it and did a good deed. It's up to the owner to sort out getting it back if they want it....

It's a bit cheeky just assuming the OP is going to just drop it off anywhere you like then chasing to see if he has done it.... :glare:
