Ah, sorry.

Didn't mention that I don't actually know where the photograph was taken...

Well yes, but I was idly wondering where these come from!

It's the lighter ones in the stack that are slightly confusing me. Suspect it might not necessarily be Ffestiniog, but then again...

Is there a prize?
And don't say "The Mars bar that did the Croesor-Rhosydd trip 8 times". I believe that I won that in 2011?

Answer: Braich-Ddu :smartass:

I think the lighter slates are just where they've been cut by the saw?

Is the image one you've actually taken?

Nothing comes up if one does 'search Google for this image'

About 10 years ago that photo COULD have been taken at Braich-Ddu Slate Mine - (SH718384). Slate of about that size and shape appeared to be being palleted and transported off site, possibly for the walls along the improvements to the A470 between Dolweddelan and Betws.

I'm convinced that its Braich Ddu....I bet I could go up there tomorrow and replicate that shot. Then award myself a prize!

That is a very strange coincidence. I have been looking at loads of different photos of Braich Ddu today, on here, and elsewhere on the net, for an idea I have. So having just seen this, I would say probably Braich Ddu.

Photo is from a Facebook group from someone wanting to sell the slates for walling.

Idly wondering whether they're genuinely entitled to sell them, or whether someone's harvesting a handy tip...

If you did want to "harvest a handy tip" then Braich-Ddu would be the place to do it. Although their access track has been left deliberately"distressed" in order to dissuade pilfering. You need a 4x4 to get up there, so why would they be on pallets? I'll mention it to Iwan and see if he wants to check it out....if it is indeed Braich-Ddu....;)
