Long time since I've been up Gunnerside, obviously someone has done alot of work on the level!

We had a great day up there. Visited 4 mines with bulk of underground time in Bunton. Don't know what Priscilla was like in past but the adit would have needed a shovel to clear out the "entry" pipe on the day we were there - which we didn't have. Will definitely go back.

The pipe was iffy but intact last time I was there, but that was a few years ago now.

I've heard talk of collapses but don't know if thats this entrance, of the more substantial dig further in.

I thought I'd heard that it was the entrance dig to Victoria which had collapsed? Or maybe it was both? Or perhaps I'm just plain confused!

The entrance pipe in the photo above was about 70% ish obstructed with debris when we were end Jan. It could have been cleared relatively easily - probably just a few shovel fulls. We didn't attempt to clear on the day as having just spent a while in Bunton we were keen to push on & get into another mines
