hi yall,someone just told me today that the gate on moulds was padlocked again and the other entrance 5 yards above had been concreted and soiled over,anyone know if this is true and why? 😠

No idea, but if something has been concreted and soiled over then surely only the landowners can have done it.

Whilst I probably agree with you Chris, there is another possibility!
Over the last two or three years, the eastern tips from Moulds level, seem to being worked for gravel. indeed as I passed today I noted one or two apparently new machines on the site.
It could be the land owner has leased off these tips or even sold them, and depending on the size of the area this could possibly include Moulds entrance, and these lessees might be responsible.

I think you must mean the moulds level that's used as a water supply by Yorkshire water,thats the lower level where all the gravel is where the council trucks park on the left,anyhow its illegal to remove spoil now isint it,according to my mate and he s Yorkshire dales national park chief executive!

I was in Old Moulds level in November, near footpath towards a big hush, above a farm, I managed to have a wonder in there to see the chert workings, is that a different location?

Spoilheap removal is not illegal in itself but it does generally require planning permission, or a GPDO notification.

Just a thought has anyone checked this mine to see iff it has bewn filled with concrete, as Francis lilo suggested?
Personally not been over there since he made the posting.
