Hi folks,

The ever popular Victorian costume trip makes its annual appearance on the 29th March (so you've plenty of time to get those costumes sorted). Due to popular demand we’re returning to Cwmorthin this year. However, this year there’s an optional extra – arrival by steam train!

We’re catching the Ffestiniog Railway steam train from Minffordd at 10.25am which will deliver us to Tanygrisiau at 11.25.

Return train at 15.05.

What you need:
• An oil/paraffin lamp (available cheaply from e-bay!)
• A Victorian costume (see cwmorthin user album for costume ideas)
• Possibly a back up light (ie- a candle!)


Lunch will be provided, however if you would like to bring along any additions to a Cawl they’d be very welcome (port, welshcakes … :flowers: )

This is a relatively short and easy trip, so please feel free to bring along people we don’t normally see!

Please note: this is a Victorian costume trip, LED lights did not exist, so we won’t be using ‘em!

You should arrange one of these at an Elizabethan mine, have never had an excuse to wear a codpiece before. 😮

Hmmm, well, if you're that keen on it- we'll let you wear Elizabethan costume instead! 😮

That sounds good - still got my 'uniform' from travelling down the FR in a slate waggon during '1863 And All That' in October. Got some hurricane lamps back in Mold (which may have to be used tonight to check the animals if the electric goes down in this storm) so I'll provisionally say yes.

Hi Clive, Can you add yourself onto the trip list? It's easy to take yourself off again if you have to pull out again later for whatever reason, but it'll get complicated if I have to work my way through this thread and the event's page to work out how many I'm cooking for!
