Planning a club trip to Nenthead in the spring - what is the best bet for accommodation - are there any bunkhouses etc in the vicinity?

The old mineshop at Haggs Bank has been restored as a bunkhouse but may prove expensive for a small number of people. It's advertised on the net and looks well appointed - take a look.

The Assay House bunkhouse is back online. See:

http://www.nentheadmines.com/  (near the bottom on contact details).

It sleeps 12 and is right on site for the underground playground.

You do all need to have current BCA membership to use the Assay house, but the price is good!
It is pretty OK for warmth as well, I stayed a couple of nights the back end of October and it was fine, though the floors aren't conducive to walking around barefoot...
Don't look so embarrassed, it's a family trait...

Staying up till the early hours drinking large whiskys in the Miners makes it warmer!

Alston Training and Adventure Centre charges only £14 a night with a good TV lounge, drying room for your wet gear, and kitchen all in.

What a thoroughly excellent job they've made of that BTW. The shop can't have had more than a very few years left before it started collapsing in upon itself, there were plenty holes it it already.

Unfortunately the Miners was closed due to refurbishment so much as I would have liked that option...
