🅱Anyone got any info on my next mine discovery?
http://www.flickr.com/photos/51368278@N08/9251036972/
from my car, so walked back up & took a snap of it through a fence. It is on Greenhow Hill, just off Duck Street, at the back of an abandoned limestone quarry. :ohmygod:
Geology:
the study of rocks & similar substances (minerals n such) that make up the Earth''s surface.
Minerals:
are the building blocks of rocks. They are a naturally occuring, inorganic, solid, crystalline substance which has a fixed structure. (and some of them are really pretty)

Theres a picture of that location on page 80 of the report (page 85 of the pdf itself) and it doesnt seem to match.

I think Red78 was looking at the location 214 just named as 'Level' seems to be roadside and very nearby.

Actually you can see it on Google Streetview.

I seem to remember there's a level/stope in the face of the quarry which must be 218.

I thought the roadside one was a fluorspar trial, but I don't know where I got that from. It goes fairly shortly to a blind forehead. Somewhere I have a photo of it.

Duck Steet Quarry seems to be some sort of butterfly sanctuary, and might even be owned by a group of interested parties.

Edit: afer a quick search this is the inside near the end:

and another of the outside, which suddenly looks a lot larger with a person added!

Blimey, the scale does alter it. It looked like it a proper squeeze-in job until i saw that.

Disclaimer: Mine exploring can be quite dangerous, but then again it can be alright, it all depends on the weather. Please read the proper disclaimer.
