Found in a 1934 publication.

A gypsum mine, presumably owned by ICI.

I considered it might be the Billingham Anhydrite mine, unless anyone has other ideas ?

The loco running off overhead lines looks very similar to those used at Billingham, maybe the mineral description was wrong or perhaps gypsum was also mined as it is very closely related to the deposition of anhydrite in standard marine evaporite sequences 🙂

Ah yeah, thats the same loco isn't it.
I'll put the photo in the correct album.

Disclaimer: Mine exploring can be quite dangerous, but then again it can be alright, it all depends on the weather. Please read the proper disclaimer.
