Happens now and again, but usually one of us Admins spots it within a few minutes, bans the user and deletes the thread.

I resisted the temptation to email the address he registered with calling him an ass-hat.

Effectively it's unsolicited mail/spam then, would this invoke a ban?

I think its rare here because Aditnow is a bespoke website written by SimonRL, so automated spambots which go looking for websites with off-the-shelf forums are very unlikely to succeed (you should see the acres of spam you get on a Wordpress site)

It does suggest that whoever it was manually registered in the misguided hope that we wanted to buy a kitchen worktop, very odd.

Simon is probably more qualified to answer though.
