I showed the image to a friend, who is pretty good at identifying rocks and minerals and his comment is:
"Without handling and close examination of the specimen it would be very difficult to identify. From the photo of the specimen it looks similar to Jasper. Jasper could be found in glacial conglomerates deposits or river terrace gravels deposits of the area (if we are talking of Worfield). The specimen does look rather rounded which suggest that it could be from one of those types of deposits.
A simple “Mohs Scale” hardness test should help identification."
