Winding Engine House Plaque

Plaque for the Wheal Peevor Winding Engine House. Reads: This engine house, with a 22inch winding engine, was erected in 1872 to wind ore and waste from Sir Frederick's shaft, following the discovery of rich Tin lodes. During the mine's second working from 1911 the engine was replaced with a two-cylinder horizontal steam winding engine
