Laying in a waste heap adjacent the blowing house is this enigmatic stone, which what appears to be a stamping mortar and an obviously cut recess. Maybe this slotted into place to hold it still whilst the stamps were in operation? Regardless, if this is the case it has been transported a considerable distance to be discarded hear despite probably waying in excess of 200kg.
