The original tramway started at the East Basset stamps and ended at Samson's shaft but when the mines amalgamated, in 1908 it was extended to Marriot's shaft. It went under the main Piece-Four Lanes road and as can be seen it has been cleared and is part of the Great Flat Lode project.
