The Wern today

Although not strictly an 'historic' photograph I have included it here so as to provide a comparison with the 1872 drawing. The large white house on the left, "Glenydd" corresponds to the managers house, farest away of the terrace of wooden cladded buildings shown on the left of the drawing. Behind the crusher house is the mine smithy, this building still exists and is the owner garage, the small white building to the right of Glenydd. The deep adit portal is between these buildings and below the tarmac drive at the edge of the lawn.
