Taken just before closure, Fan House on The left possibly a Walker type (similar to Woodhorn Mining Museum) The Headstock also has a large drift entrance, which would have been in constant use during salvage Works which continued for a number of years. The North Winder had been replaced at sometime by a make do corrugated iron building (similar to the types used at Annesley in Nottingham) but unusually Houghton was situated side on.
