Note the remains of a narrow; overshot waterwheel pit; slightly recessed, and roughly 4x1m. Note the context of the site is situated some height above the river Walkham itself; was this because the river flooded its banks at this spot? Why so high up the hill; surely this then required the extra effort to cut a longer leat. No contemporary record of this site has survived, which only adds to the extensive enigma.
