The Hucknall No1 Headgear and Winding House

This is that place in its last days just after the filling of the No1 Shaft. The No1 shaft was converted to cage and weight at the end of mining operations at Hucknall No1 colliery. Then the No2 shaft became Babbington No7 and was deepened from Top Hard to Deep Soft, it then ventilated Babbington Mine. A Met Vick 300 HP Ac winder was installed . The conveyance was a single deck cage direct wound. Much like the underground winder at Hucknall No2 Pit which worked between Main Bright and Deep Soft in No 4 shaft prior to the working out of Main Bright and High Main.
