Sitting behind the old baths was a very rare relic that somehow survived Demolition when the Mine closed (late 1960s), then the Coke Works closed (late 1980s). a fine stylish brick built upcast housing that should have been saved either in situ or moved to Beamish open air museum. Strangely I couldn''t find any remains of this? Hopefully though doubtless, the bricks have been saved to be built elsewhere...
