Details of the old steam winder (Whim) at Robinson's Shaft South Crofty May 23rd 1967. This excerpt is from a document handed out to all that attended the 'Switch over' ceremony from steam to electric winding. The electric winder motor was a 330 HP AC induction, 2.75kV 3 phase, with overwind & overspeed protection and lots of other modern safety features.
