This chamber is the part of the mine currently being worked. Originally this chamber was dug in as a separate working, but the entrance collapsed many years ago. The chamber was linked to the larger adjacent chamber and was cleared of debris. The larger chamber in the mine is used to store the diamond wire sawing equipment, slate stock supplies and vehicles.
