Robinson's Shaft, South Crofty Tin Mine. Part of the beam of Robinson's 80 inch Pumping Engine. This engine was erected on Robinson's Shaft immediately after the sinking in 1903 having worked previously at Tregurtha Downs. It ceased working at 1955 after 101 years and was replaced by electric pumps. It is now preserved and cared for by the National Trust. Photo P213046.
