Tramway points. Rail. Waste. Tips. Artifact. Extant. 2007. Thomas Hughes. Round rail. Hughes worked at Penrhyn and devised a rail system using lengths of round section metal which had bent ends that slotted into cast iron sleeper and points plates. This was an easily copied system, the cast plates often replaced by stone/slate.
