This is labelled as such because it connected with the "Old Tuxford" floor (Diffwys Floor 0) and continued to do so after the Tuxford Incline proper was extended up from Floor 0 to Floor 3. It was correctly referred to as the "Long Water Balance" and was a water balance incline connecting Floor C with the "Writing Slate Mill Floor" - before Floor C was connected to the Diffwys/Votty Incline it lifted finished slates from Floor C to the upper floor, where the water wheel/chain operated incline lifted them up to the Rhiwbach Tramway. The same water wheel operated the writing slate mill.
