Mount Wellington 6 Level Looking West. 1988

6 Level Looking West. This timber work was installed when a Canadian Firm was running the mine. They brought with them some wacky ideas about mining, and the local guys tried to tell them they were wasting their time........they were! This timberwork is a fine example of their theory put into practice. This was a footwall drive with wooden ore chutes (Cousin Jacks) that they designed so narrow that the sulphide rich ore just cemented itself together in the chutes and boxholes above. Brains..? 1988
