Man Engine Shaft

View (West) from the Man Engine chamber (South East & West Lode) looking across the flooded Man Engine shaft (used as a skip-way in the 1950s) up the Man Engine shaft to surface. [October 2012] Note the cut-off ends of the skips rails are just visible in the shaft wall - compare this with the 2002 pictures in the gallery by Martin Critchley, which show the skip rails still in position.
