Looking up a kink in the lode from adit.

This was taken other side of the catwalk looking up. What can be seen is a kink in the lode where the underlie changes briefly from south dipping to north dipping. This phenomena is everywhere in Frongoch and explains what I always thought off as illogical placement of the shafts relative to the lode. Shafts are usually sunk vertical through the hanging to cut the lode at depth, or right on the lode. On the plans shafts are both north and south of lode which on the face of it makes little sense if the lode is south dipping.
