The 1940s Baths were quietly lowered to the ground 12th April 2018. Locals received a leaflet last year about Persimmon Homes acquiring the site. The Building had been used for many years by firm that made car seat foam "cosyfoam" However since the Persimmon leaflets had been dispatched, the building which although quite structurally sound had been neglected for many years, suddenly had visits from the fire brigade most nights as Hooligans set fire to the place, despite the interior been stripped. picture before https://www.aditnow.co.uk/Photo/Photographs-Of-Lambton_89863/ The other side of the road (left) still has some buildings including the dilapidated former Managers house, Persimmon owns both sides although its full of scrap and rubbish, To Demolish the baths first does smack of someone trying to save the old building, so demolishing it quickly means it can never be saved.
