Hollands Lower Mill site - The Causeway ca 1975

Looking from the Middle Quarry "Big Tip" towards the entrance to Hollands'' Main or "Limit Level" tunnel in the distance. The tunnel dates from around 1839 or so. From left to right you can see the tipping gallery, then the top of the original footpath from Dinas Rhiwbryfdir many hunderesds of feet below, then the remaining corner of Hollands'' slab mill. Above the level entrance and its old weighhouse is one of the old pathways up to the quarry, while further right is the other corner of the slabmill, the discharge/overflow from its wheelpit and the filled in slot of the head of Hollds'' 1839 incline to Dinas. On the extreme right are another flight of quarry steps and an old building.
