Showing a rather dilapidated condition, with its Wooden Headstock and about to fall down shaft housing building, though strikingly solid Winder/engine House with huge double chimney's. It is not known why this mine was called the Hazard? but the nearby road from Hetton to Rainton bearing the same name has claimed many lives over the years,
