The construction of the wheel at Greenhurth circa 1880 with the managers house and the flat rod system behind. A wheel of this size (40ft dia ?) was necessary to operate the flat rod system which had to travel up the side of the valley to the pumps in the newly sunk Swan's shaft 500yds away.
