This is the Fron-Boeth tunnel, about 200m from the main workings.It was built to connect the Pant Mawr and Fron-Boeth workings to the Croesor tramway, thus removing the need to uphaul material merely to drop it down a double pitch incline on the other side of the ridge. Someone has been working to clear the fall, but it looks as if more has come down since.
