First winch house

The full wagons were lowered and pulled up the returning empty wagons. This point was one of the access points for horses that pulled the returning empty wagons and the moorland road to Glyn Ceiriog can be accessed at this point (or to return to Glyndydwy village). The road to Glyn Ceiriog follows the rail for quite a way, but at a much higher elevation. Friction braking wheels are located in the roof of the structure, in the other winches the track goes around the brake system.
