Quite a difference from the earlier map, note the Compressed Air & Electricity Generating Station listed at the top. These impressive Buildings still servive although in a sorry state, However their days maybe numbered as new works are currently building close by, which may expand into part of that land. The mine appears to have just the one shaft although a Drift will later be listed towards the left (railway sidings already in place). Not shown on the map the railway lines to the right was the Birtley Iron Works (Now Komatsu) which will own this mine from the date of the map.
